.::BORN IN THE USA::.
I am home.
I mean that in every sense of the word.
I drove into O'Fallon today to celebrate the beauty of America...Irish Cream Mocha Lattes, driving down the Interstate listening to Christian Radio (102.1 the ALIEN is my favorite...it's not of this world..haha), and waving to smiling people as you pass them. I love my country so much. As I browsed the fiction isles of Borders, I became so aware for the first time how lucky I am to live in a place like this. I have never slept as soundly as I have these past two nights being back in my own bed (and it's not just the jet lag). I feel like I have been reborn into a more happy version of my old life...my friends are writing me telling me how excited they are to see me. My sister greeted me at Lambert International with a huge hug and a loving smile. Sisters are so great. Every once in a while I get tears in my eyes when I realize that I am home indefinately. Mom, being the wonderful mom she is, had a dentist appointment for me at 10am today. How like her...I'd been off the plane for barely 48 hours and she was already worried that I might have English cavities (I am proud to say that I checked out fine. They KNEW I'd been flossing! Hahaha...).
It feels so good to walk around the streets of Nashville and have people say "good mornin' miss" and have them give their genuine farmtown smiles. England was great, but I could never live there. America is home.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who kept in such wonderful touch with me while I was gone. You are my heart.
