*oh it's fun to be the new girl*
I'm at work on a Saturday afternoon because, let's face it, I'm the new girl.
I'm working on a story about some refugees from Kosovo who have settled in Richmond and are looking to be reunited with their son. It's going to be a really emotional story, particularly if he ends up flying to the United States in the next year.
School starts Wednesday and for the first time in my life, I am not enrolled anywhere. I don't have to get a class schedule or buy books. There will be no classes or football games for me this fall (unless I sneak into one). I'm sort of in shock that college is over — where did it go? It's a little confusing. I don't feel like I should be old enough to be out of school.
I'm quite sleepy today....it's overcast. I just wish I could go to Nashville to see my family.
Rachel seems to be doing well...she's moving to St. Louis to start graduate school at Washington University (WASH U) and is really excited about seeing some people from her undergrad school around campus. I'm glad she's just an hour away from Mom so that she can call her if she needs anything.
